August 26, 2008- new Thomas Bey William Bailey album imminent
I've just received a reference master of my new album (the working title is "Natura Non Constritatur"), and will upload some brief samples here in the days to come. This effort will have a considerable boost in sonic richness, owing to a mastering job by master engineer Denis Blackham (fans of more adventurous electronic music will need to introduction to the man) in place of the usual 'un-mastering' that I did throughout my un-career as The Domestic Front. Step one in putting that legacy behind me, and moving on to a more enduring vision of Total Sound (a term which I'd like to use, from hereon out, in the place of the very contentious "noise.")
Artwork design will begin next week, and all in all it looks like this should be out before year's end.
August 19, 2008- new "Perfect Sound Forever" piece pending
I'll be writing a short essay (as Thomas Bey William Bailey) for the excellent Perfect Sound Forever music archive, dealing with the ins and outs of the Japanese independent record shop culture. Keep tabs on the site, as it should appear in the next issue.
August 10, 2008- 'Perfect Swarm' mp3 excerpt uploaded
For those who don't already have a copy, there is a new MP3 excerpt (a full 10 minute song!) from the Perfect Swarm CDr available here. Believe it or not, I still have a couple of copies of this, should you have money to exchange for one. Get thyself to the sounds page (points to left frame...)
August 6, 2008- new writing published at Rhizome.org
My short piece on synesthesia / cymatics / Carsten Nicolai is now available for reading here at Rhizome.org. You may note that, with a few changes, this is a very compressed / edited version of a similar discussion that takes place in the upcoming Micro Bionic book.
August 5, 2008- FAQ overhauled
As with a few other features of the Belsona site, the FAQ has now been retooled for better readability, and deals with the issues of The Domestic Front's termination / segue into Thomas Bey William Bailey's new recording efforts. Information in Editions Belsona is also included, and much more thorough info should be posted by the end of the month.
